When he's not composing music and taking long winded hikes, Salami has had a deep fascination with developing fictional worlds from scratch. Inspired by several titles such as Wizard101, Pokemon, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and Bee & Puppycat, he's created his own hard magic system that takes a more real world approach and combines his knowledge in biological sciences with fantastical elements.
This is part one of The Kingdom's Trilogy, a series about 'The Castle That Goes By Many Names'. It follows Josephina Brynjolf, a young girl born in a world of magic without any abilities. Her village is burnt down by Dragon Mania, the central kingdom of the region. To avenge her people, she teams up with a journalist and a scientist to track down and defeat the queen.
The book serves as an introduction to the hard magic system that will be consistent throughout this universe. That is, (as stated above), a magic system that integrates science at its core. This makes the book a must read for those that love Dungeons & Dragons!
Salami was inspired by my friends, especially those in the orchestras he grew up with, to write this book. Many of the characters (Josephina, Chambree, Madeline, Lilliane, and others) have real life counterparts. The weirdest people Salami has met were in the concert halls of orchestras, and that's what makes the music world so beautiful. Thank you to all artists for being so...weird.
Since this is technically a music page, it'll be made clear that this book had musical inspiration from Mahler Symphony III, and Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe Suite.
